Tell The Time

I'm recommending Zingo Sight Words as a great game for young learners, as each student gains a word, they make a sentence or ask a question to another student, reinforcing these  commonly used sight words.

01 / Pop To The Shops

This a fun, find the matching pair game, with Yo Ho Ho, children love the pirate theme, but also with each pair that the student gets, they must describe the character, their clothes, appearance etc, a good way to get the students talking whilst playing.

What's the minimum time to work with a tutor?
06 / Language Development Board Games
04 / Bus Stop

Bus Stop is a brilliant game to learn places in the town, children can talk about where the various people on the bus are going to, also  to add more language into the game they can describe some of their passengers.

02 / Zingo Sight Words

Pop To The Shops, a great way to teach useful shopping phrases, plus stack loads of vocabulary too, fun to play with plastic coins, so not only teaching literacy but numerical skills too.

Not only is Tell The Time, a great way to practice telling the time, but also there are lots of our daily routines included, which we can use to stimulate conversation between the students, for eample, do you have a shower in the morning?

These Language Development Board Games are brilliant for making sentences and getting younger students using some basic conjunctions, lots of vocabulary learning opportunities, better than any worksheet!

07 / Story Cards Original

If you want to get your younger students talking, these Story Cards are just the thing, there are different characters, places, actions and objects that children can put together to make some fun short stories!

08 / Storyonics, Magical Mystery Stories

These cards definitely get used every day, a great range of vocabulary to practice for new learners, who can then build up to making sentences and stories, with 4 pictures on every card, Storyonics, Magical Mystery Stories  have unlimited story telling possibilities.

 11 / Shopping List
10 / Top Trumps, World Football Stars

A fun game to get children speaking, one student describes a word on a card and the other student has to guess it. How many can you get right in the time given? A fun competitive game, Don't Say It, is great for any age student.

This is a perfect end of class, 5 minute filler, children love Top Trumps, World Football Stars, as it's a fun and competitive game and I love it because it's a great way of practicing numbers, an all round favourite!

09 / Don't Say It
12 / Verbs Flash Cards

Shopping List is a great way to practice vocabulary and also get the children asking questions about food and their likes and dislikes.

Great tool to use in class, but don't just use these as Verbs Flash Cards, but give each student a number of cards and get them using connectors and making a story with the cards that they have.
